Alan McKenna leads the global Middle Office business at Apex, overseeing four distinct business lines that support a diverse client base. With over 25 years of experience in the Alternative Investment industry, Alan has worked closely with institutional investors, including major pension funds, as well as some of the world’s largest hedge funds.
Before joining his current firm, Alan was a member of the three-person Executive Committee at Equinoxe Alternative Services, where he played a key role in strategic and operational leadership. Prior to that, he held senior positions at J.P. Morgan, FundPartners NV, and State Street.
Alan is a strong advocate for building scalable, reusable processes and systems, while also recognizing the need for flexibility. He believes that tailoring innovative, client-centric solutions is essential to the long-term success of the Middle Office business and the broader enterprise.

Max Hilton, CFA
Max Hilton, CFA, is managing director and founder of Apex Risk Technologies. Max has over twenty years’ experience working in quantitative finance as both a risk manager and portfolio manager, working with both liquid and illiquid asset classes. He previously worked for JP Morgan Securities within Proprietary Equities and was responsible for a global equities portfolio. Before this he worked at Ziff Brothers Investments in New York and London as senior associate within the Quantitative Strategy Group.

Ilja Faerman serves as the Head of Product Strategy at Numerix, where he has consistently driven the successful delivery of complex projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. With deep expertise in pricing complex derivatives across various asset classes, he has also played a pivotal role in supporting XVA desks by developing advanced calculation infrastructures. Additionally, Ilja has partnered with structured product issuers to innovate solutions for trade ideation and design platforms capable of managing the comprehensive risk of large portfolios. His extensive knowledge spans critical industry topics such as SIMM, FRTB, and innovative buy-side solutions.
Prior to joining Numerix, Ilja honed his skills as a Financial Engineer and Model Validation Analyst at Thomson Reuters. He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business and Computer Science and a Master of Science in Finance from the prestigious Frankfurt School of Finance.

Xinna Huang
Xinna Huang is the Global Alliances Director at Numerix, where she leads strategic partnerships and co-solutioning initiatives with global financial technology firms. With 15 years of experience in capital markets technology, she has worked across firms like Thomson Reuters and NASDAQ (Calypso), working closely with top-tier financial institutions across Australia and Asia. Today, she focuses on driving ecosystem-led solutions in risk, valuation, and regulatory oversight.
